We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to support our Data initiatives by analyzing and validating property data scraped from different websites, identifying field inconsistencies (e.g. null values, missing data, unformatted fields, etc), and finding solutions to address data gaps. This role is critical for ensuring the reliability of our data pipelines and optimizing the quality of information used. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineers to troubleshoot issues, explore alternative data sources,enhance the quality of our data, and maintain high data integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Support for Data Team:
- Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to review, validate, and enhance data scraped from various sources.
- Assist in troubleshooting scraping processes by analyzing the structure and content of the collected data.
- Collaborate with other Data Analysts and Data Scientist to review and analyse our data.
Data Analysis & Validation:
- Examine scraped datasets for inconsistencies, such as null values, incomplete fields, or mismatches.
- Help identify alternative data sources to resolve inconsistencies and fill in missing or incomplete fields.
- Perform field-by-field validation of datasets to ensure compliance with expected structures and formats.
- Work closely with stakeholders to assess the feasibility of integrating new sources or methods for obtaining reliable data.
- Create reports and dashboards to monitor data quality and highlight areas for improvement.
Customer Data Analysis:
- Support the analysis of data collected from customers to uncover trends, preferences, and actionable insights.
- Work with cross-functional teams to design and implement strategies for leveraging customer data to improve products and services.
- Develop metrics, dashboards, and reports to track customer behavior and engagement over time.
Problem Solving & Recommendations:
- Recommend strategies for improving data quality, such as automated checks, error logging, and additional data sources.
- Collaborate with the team to design workflows for continuously improving data integrity and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role focused on data quality, validation, and insights.
- Strong SQL skills for querying and analyzing structured datasets.
- Familiarity with data scraping concepts, challenges, and tools (e.g., Scrapy, Data Engineers pipelines, etc).
- Ability to work with and analyze data from diverse formats, including HTML, JSON, CSV, and PDF files.
- Understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and how to validate data integrity within them.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to identify patterns in data.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and Excel for reporting and insights.
