We're looking for a Backend Engineer to join our growing Engineering Team. You will be integral to our team, helping to build and optimise the scalable, high-performance services while we continue to build our core product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain robust backend services using Python and FastAPI
- Work closely with product and frontend teams to deliver end-to-end features
- Develop and maintain data models and queries in PostgreSQL
- Manage and evolve infrastructure on AWS, optionally using Terraform
- Optimize and maintain data processing workflows using Pandas and PySpark
- Contribute to system architecture and technical decision-making
- Take ownership and initiative, help shape the future of our tech stack
Requirements:
- 1–5+ years of backend development experience
- Strong proficiency in Python, with experience building APIs (FastAPI or similar)
- Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
- Optional but helpful: basic understanding of React.js and how frontends interact with APIs
- Working knowledge of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda)
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform is a plus
- Exposure to data processing tools like Pandas and PySpark
- A self-starter mindset: you’re resourceful, eager to learn, and thrive with autonomy
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit
Bonus Points
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices
- Prior experience at a startup or on a small, high-impact engineering team
- Contributions to open-source projects or personal tech projects
